Most people want to be good allies. Doing it in the room, in the moment, when it counts, is where people fall short. The number of UK employees who feel able to bring their real selves to work has dropped sharply in a few years, and Black professionals report the steepest hit to how they perform because of it. In this collaborative conversation, speakers reflect on their experience of allyship in the workplace. Each speaker shares one action they’ve taken, one they’ve seen and want to start doing, and something they are currently working on. If you’re thinking about how to better support colleagues as an ally, this session will help you learn, unlearn, and adapt your approach along the way.
