Strategist & Co-Founder, RukaUgo is a strategist and operator who is passionate about how innovation can solve problems in personal care. She is the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Ruka (www.rukahair.com), a consumer innovation company on a mission to disrupt the hair extensions supply chain with a 'lab-based' alternative to human hair. Ugo studied Bioengineering at Imperial College before advising clients across Pharma, Consumer Health and Beauty whilst at McKinsey & Co as a Consultant. She saw multi-national companies lacking the insight and strategic interest needed to serve minority consumers properly.Amid a pandemic, consequential global supply chain freeze and more recently a capital markets slow down, Ruka has continued to scale; serving ~20k customers globally, securing two patents so far, and raising $5M+ in venture capital funding to date.
