The Fast Track: Helping your business SOAR to new heights (Vol. 2)
Welcome to Edition 2 of The Fast Track, our SOAR newsletter, where we share tips, insights, and fresh ideas to supercharge your business growth. This month, we’re sharing three routes to business success from a serial entrepreneur, explaining how an F1 star prioritises his energy, and discussing how to use product packaging as a moment to connect with customers.
A multi-millionaire founder’s three routes to business success
Serial entrepreneur Timothy Armoo, explained in his CheatCodes newsletter that entrepreneurship is a game and the more you play, the better you get. As he puts it: “Many early-stage entrepreneurs pitch me their ‘billion-dollar ideas’. And they're almost always destined to fail.” The problem, as he sees it, is that people want to compete at Level 10 (a billion dollar business) when they’re only playing at Level 1.
So how can you increase your chances of winning? Armoo has three routes to take:
-
Pick a business with existing demand. Rather than forcing originality, find something that’s already working.
-
Pick a business where most of the people who stick with it end up winning. Time will show you which industries and businesses have the greatest likelihood of success.
-
Pick a business where effort is the variable. Since you control your own effort, choose a field where outworking your competition can swing the odds in your favour.
How Lewis Hamilton takes risks on-and-off the track
For career longevity like Lewis Hamilton, you need to bring your best to every race. Hamilton sees each Formula One season as a new chapter. To him, it doesn’t matter what races or trophies he’s won before; it’s all about how he shows up now and the work he’s put in.
To be able to bring his best, Hamilton has to ruthlessly prioritise his energy. As he explained to LinkedIn News, “before you add anything else to your plate, you should first make sure you have the bandwidth and the hunger to really explore something new…I don't do anything by halves and give everything as much of my time and energy as I can, but I only have so much time away from the track, so I choose partners and projects that really align with my values and what I want to achieve.”

How to use your packaging to connect with your community
This year for International Women’s Day (IWD), Treasure Tress and the UK Black Business Show teamed up to deliver something truly special. To honour 100 black women, not only did they deliver wash day essentials from Black owned beauty brands, they put their faces right on the box.
Let’s break down why this campaign hit the mark:
-
It was an authentic expression of celebration: The activation wasn’t used to capitalise on IWD; instead it was a thoughtfully curated approach to recognise the impact of 100 incredible Black women, and offer them a moment to pamper and recharge.
-
It moved with purpose and precision: UK Black Business Show leads with the value of “we move first and we move fast”. This campaign was pulled off in just a week, but the swift execution didn’t compromise on quality or impact.
-
It was a moment of surprise and delight: All across social media, genuine reactions were at the heart of this campaign, with each woman experiencing the joy of seeing their face reflected back at them.
