Maureen Biney is a seasoned technology leader and strategist with more than a decade of experience empowering engineering teams to deliver with clarity, confidence and technical excellence. With a background spanning software and data engineering, developer advocacy and strategic technical program leadership, she brings deep technical understanding and people-centered leadership to her work.
Drawing on thirteen years of engineering foundations, Maureen made a strategic pivot into organization enablement, where she applies her technical expertise to drive human-centered change and guide organizations to make informed technology decisions to remain future-ready. She specializes in making complex technical transformations both accessible and sustainable, turning high-level strategy into practical enablement programs that improve engineering workflow, delivery quality and team confidence.
She leads high-impact initiatives that support several thousands of engineers globally and is recognized for her ability to translate technical vision into inclusive learning experiences. Her programs have accelerated the shift towards modern engineering practices and improved adoption of critical tooling for developers. Through hands-on bootcamps, targeted coaching and structured learning frameworks, she builds capability while enabling teams to navigate change with confidence.
Alongside her strategic leadership responsibilities, Maureen contributes to sector-wide knowledge-sharing. She is passionate about sharing her experiences to inspire other women to excel. She has delivered highly engaging virtual talks at the Grace Hopper Celebration (the world’s largest gathering of women technologists), reaching close to 3000 attendees with recordings repeatedly rewatched. Her talks focus on navigating career progression, overcoming technical challenges, and leading through career transitions. Her sessions continuously receive strong feedback and demonstrate her ability to connect authentically with diverse technical audiences.
Maureen plays a trusted role in senior leadership spaces, bringing clarity through data- driven reporting on engineering and developer experience. She leads with empathy and precision and is committed to shaping technical environments where excellence, learning and inclusion are embedded as core operational standards, while actively developing the next generation of confident technical leaders.
Outside her core role, Maureen consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing technology access, leadership and representation across the sector. Her work is defined by entrepreneurial innovation, youth empowerment, women’s advancement, and dedicated advocacy for the next generation of Black women leaders in technology.
Entrepreneurship & Community Impact
She founded the Audacity Company Initiative, through which she delivers digital tools, career transition and level-up workshops and high-impact mentoring programs for women and underrepresented technologists. She is also developing 1 Million Hello World, a tech access initiative for individuals with zero prior coding experience. The program aims to introduce one million new coders across Ghana and the African diaspora to their very first line of code, sparking interest and confidence in technology and coding, and opening future possibilities in the field.
Maureen supports parents of SEN children through tech engagement and creativity-based learning models inspired by her own daughter. Her aim is to help promote early technical literacy, creative problem-solving, and digital confidence in the home.
Speaking & Sector Influence
Over the past eight years, Maureen has been a dedicated and influential speaker, sharing her expertise and journey with a global audience of close to 10,000 individuals across virtual and in-person forums across the UK, Ghana and the US. Her speaking engagements focus on critical topics such as digital transformation and innovation through technology and AI, empowering women through technology, navigating career transitions and advancement for women in tech. She has delivered tech enablement workshops for Black-owned businesses through accelerator programs, supporting entrepreneurs in leveraging technology for operational efficiency and scalable growth. Maureen also leads AI awareness workshops for mothers, helping them use emerging technologies to balance family responsibilities, improve productivity and explore new career pathways.

Maureen serves as a strategic technology advisor to MedPharma Alliance International Limited and a non-profit organization, guiding executive teams on impact and efficiency through technology. As a mentor, she has supported emerging female technologists and encouraged Black girls to pursue STEM pathways. She actively builds partnerships between the UK, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa to widen access to technology-led learning.

10. 2019 Innovator of the Year, everywoman in Technology Awards Won for her work in promoting Healthcare Information Systems in Ghana. Maureen built a database to keep patient records. This is currently used in 5 hospitals across Ghana. Maureen remains committed to scaling access to tech through confidence, culture, and community. Her work is driven by the belief that access to technology can transform futures, and she continues to create spaces where the next generation of Black women and young technologists feel seen, capable and equipped to lead.
