Tamika Kalule is a dynamic leader in the UK tech industry, currently serving as a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase. She specialises in developing next-generation infrastructure management software, proactively addressing client challenges and delivering measurable business value. Driven by a commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for empowering others, Tamika consistently aligns her work with the success of her team and the products she delivers.

In recognition of her exceptional growth and impact, Tamika will be entrusted with greater responsibility as she transitions into the role of Engineering Manager in 2026. This new position reflects both her professional development and the confidence placed in her leadership to drive further innovation and success.

Tamika’s journey from biomedical science into technology fuels her passion for opening doors to those from non-traditional backgrounds. She spearheaded a community initiative to upskill non- technical colleagues in coding, guiding them to develop a high-impact production application now used across the business. Her technical leadership, hands-on support with CI/CD pipelines, and commitment to best practice have resulted in tools that are not only faster and more reliable, but also foster a culture of innovation.

Beyond engineering, Tamika’s influence is felt across the firm. As former co-lead of the DE&I Career and Talent workstream, she advanced professional development and leadership opportunities for Black employees, organised mentorship programmes for interns, and championed a diverse talent pipeline. Her leadership in the Diversity Awards Working Group has helped secure industry recognition for underrepresented talent, including multiple finalists for the EveryWoman and TechWomen100 Awards.

A sought-after speaker and advocate, Tamika has represented JP Morgan at major events such as the Women in Tech Networking Event, Black Tech Conference, and Women of Silicon Roundabout, strengthening the firm’s brand and attracting diverse talent. She also leads community initiatives, including Africa Day celebrations and Black History Month events, fostering cultural awareness and engagement.

Outside her main role, Tamika mentors young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through the Sutton Trust and participates as a judge and speaker at industry events, inspiring the next generation of technologists. Committed to lifelong learning, she is currently balancing her career with part-time study for a master’s degree at the University of Oxford.
