Velisa is a senior HR professional with over a decade of experience and co-host of the Everybody Hates HR Podcast, where she provides practical, down-to-earth advice on HR and careers each week.

For the past seven years, Velisa has specialised in Employee Relations, working across industries including FMCG, recruitment, education, and—her favourite so far—tech. During this time, she has held HR roles at companies such as Meta and, most recently, Workday.

In 2020, she launched Black and HR—now known as Haus of HR—a platform and community where she creates HR-focused content and offers private one-to-one advice.

Outside of her HR career, Velisa became a mum in 2021, a role that has reshaped how she approaches her career and how she supports others.
